CRN Newsroom Update: Security Reporter Sarah Kuranda Discusses Kaspersky Lab's Latest Setback

Security vendor Kaspersky Lab has been removed from the GSA Schedule, a move that could severely limit the security vendor's ability to sell to the federal government. "The government removed Kaspersky from the GSA schedule, which means that they’ve been taken off the list of approved contractors for the federal government. This is a big deal because the federal government is one of the biggest markets for IT out there," said CRN's Sarah Kuranda, who is covering the story. Kuranda said some customers are expressing concerns, questioning whether or not Kaspersky is safe to use in order to protect their most valued data. But there's still a lot that needs to be discussed and discovered before these allegations can change the course of a business. "Partners still seem to be supporting the company going forward; we’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out," she said.
