3:35

DXC Technology made its first acquisition Wednesday, buying Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution provider Tribridge and its managed cloud business Concerto Cloud Services. Tribridge offers enterprise customers software services and cloud solutions around finance, operations, customer engagement and human capital management. Tribridge employs 740 people and is a six-time Dynamics 365 Worldwide and U.S. Partner of the Year winner. Symantec said on Thursday it plans to acquire threat isolation startup Fireglass. Symantec CEO Greg Clark said in a statement that the acquisition breaks Symantec into the market for threat isolation in a big way – and it boosts Symantec's existing endpoint, email and secure web gateway solutions. The acquisition also builds on Symantec's security platform story – called the Integrated Cyber Defense Platform -- which looks to build a full set of integrated security offerings for customers and partners. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. CRN spoke with Cisco channel chief Wendy Bahr at Cisco Live in Las Vegas last week to chat about Cisco's new Intuitive Network, which Wendy called a "Market Disruptor." Cisco's new Intuitive Network includes new Catalyst switches, new software and services, as well as machine learning capabilities and a unique encrypted traffic analytics platform. Wendy said the Intuitive Network will become part of Cisco's popular VIP partner program and give the channel a solution to transform customers into digital companies through a more software-centric approach. Wendy also talked to CRN about Apple CEO Tim Cook and his surprise appearance at Cisco Live, where he met on stage with Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins. They discussed developing a deeper strategic partnership between the two technology giants around cybersecurity. Wendy said Cisco partners have a massive opportunity to add more value and become more relevant to their customers who use a lot of Apple products. Finally, this week, if you need to know what's trending for partners, take a look at our editorial lists and slideshows on CRN.com.
